Duncan Phillips founded the Phillips Collection in 1921, converting his home manor into what he described as an  “intimate museum combined with an experiment station.” Nearly a century later, the Phillips Collection adheres to this description featuring works of modern and contemporary art from Renoir, Van Gogh and Rothko to Bernardi Roig and student featured art exhibits. The Phillips Collection is not unlike Pan’s Labyrinth, a myriad of various art exhibits spread throughout every corner of the seemingly never-ending gallery.
